WOMEN ARCHITECTS throughout the state and across the country attended AIA’s Women in Leadership Summit (WLS), held this year in Minneapolis, MN, September 12-14, 2019.
The summit, which began as a grassroots effort, has grown into a large two-day event , held every other year, where raising awareness of women in the profession, leadership in the profession, continuing education, mentorship and growth, is shared amongst other women in the industry.
By meeting and networking with other women throughout the country, experiences hard fought, well earned, and roads paved were shared, and the community, in effect, cultivated into a broader landscape.
This is one of the few platforms offered where women architects and designers are drawn together to unify and grow.
We were excited and proud for Janeen Harrell, AIA and Martha Daniels, Assoc. AIA, to represent AIA Illinois, as part of a bigger picture of equality and empowerment.
